Market Drayton Town 3 Brigg Town 0

A sparkling second half show earned Market Drayton Town a deserved victory over Brigg Town and fourth place in the league.
Drayton worked hard without any real conviction for most of the first half in which Brigg made the better chances and were a little unlucky not to reach the break with a couple of goals to their credit.
That said, Brigg were also fortunate when Tom Rogers had a goal controversially disallowed and then blazed an arguably better chance over the top after skilfully making himself the opening.
Thankfully, that all changed after Drayton manager Simon Line delivered one of his fireside half time chats - sometimes called a roasting.
He made known his belief that the team were playing within themselves and urged them to "go out and express themselves; to play with more freedom and imagination..."
They did just that, with twin strikers Rogers and Martyn Davies, who had dutifully run their respective channels for much of the first half without really making much progress, quickly teaming up for two cracking inventive goals.
Neither had much to do with the training field as first Davies flicked on a half-chance Rogers converted with a superb 52nd minute right foot strike and then, five minutes later, Davies bravely bustled in at the far post to head home his partner's deep cross.
Brigg rallied stronly but Drayton's defence, with star new signing Jared Hodgkiss showing why he won a Premiership place in West Brom's team a couple of years ago, generally kept a firm grip on things - and on the rare occasions they didn't, keeper Andy Payne calmly smothered any threat.
Drayton's third goal, tapped home by Davies when Gary Anslow's fierce free kick rebounded to him off a post in the second minute of injury time, gave Town the margin they deserved and sent their fans among a disappointingly small crowd of 95 home happy.
